1. Owen Platt shall prepare a book-length manuscript for the Client, based on materials provided by, and subject to the direction and approval of the Client. The manuscript shall contain a minimum of………… words and a maximum of ……………words, both numbers being approximations of the final length of the manuscript.

2. This book shall be the sole property of the Client. Owen Platt shall retain no rights whatsoever to its specific content, sales, marketing, distribution, resale, reprinting, or use, except as specified within this agreement.

……………………………………………………………………………………………. on the cover and title pages of this book and all future editions, reprintings, revisions, versions, excerpts, electronic versions, and printed, video, audio, and electronic publicity related to this book.

4. The Client shall pay the amount of: £1000 (One thousand pounds or equivalent) prior to starting the work. This constitutes an advance on the book project.

The Client shall provide to Owen Platt in a timely fashion, all transcripts, rough drafts, notes, tapes, CD's, DVD's and other materials and information in written form necessary for the book to be completed. The working title will be:

The Client shall provide for Owen Platt all revisions, alterations, and other changes he requires in this manuscript by no later than:

Owen Platt shall provide for the Client a final draft of this book in manuscript form one printed copy and one electronic copy on disk which shall include all the revisions, alterations, and other changes specified by the Client, by no later than:

NOTE: If unforeseen circumstances cause delays by Owen Platt or by the Client, each subsequent item on the schedule will be extended by the same number of days of the delay(s) without penalty to either party.

6. The Client shall bear the full expenses of transcriptions, telephone calls, postage, travel, lodging, typing/word processing services, and other expenses as related to this book, and subject to the Client's approval. No expense will be incurred without the Client's prior knowledge and consent.

7. The Client will retain all royalties and other income produced from the sale of this book in any form. Owen Platt surrenders all claims to further income related to this book, except as stated below in this agreement, or except as stated in a separate written instrument signed by both the Client and Owen Platt.

If it is considered desirable by both parties, royalties generated from the sale of the subject book shall be shared in the ratio of % to author (Client) and % to Owen Platt, made payable to his agent, Mme. C. Bouchier or her successors quarterly for the duration of the copyright.

8. The Client guarantees that upon the printing of this book by any means at any time, no fewer than twenty copies of this book shall be presented to Owen Platt free of charge

9. This agreement shall be considered null and void if not signed by both the Client and Owen Platt on or before ………………………………………………..

This agreement shall be signed in duplicate by both parties. The final party to sign the agreement shall produce a photocopy of both originally signed documents and forward one original and one photocopy of the signed documents to the other party.

This agreement shall not be subject to change, modification, or discharge, in whole or in part, except by written instrument signed by both parties.

10. The Client shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Owen Platt against all claims, demands, suits, actions, losses, costs, damages, attorney's fees, and expenses Owen Platt may sustain or incur by reason of any scandalous, libelous, or unlawful matter contained in this book, or any infringement or violation by this book of any copyright or property right.

11. This agreement shall be construed and interpreted according to the laws of the United Kingdom and shall be binding upon and enure to the benefit of the heirs, executors, administrators, or assigns of the parties hereto.
